Siddipet: Malaysia-based agro industry, DXN Industries, will soon set up an agro Industry at Mandapally in Siddipet district. The firm will invest Rs 175 crore on the industry to come up in 50 acre of land allotted to them, creating employment to over 1,500 people, including direct employment to 700 persons.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Dr Lin, founder of DXN, announced this during a meeting in Siddipet late on Sunday evening.
Speaking on this occasion, Harish Rao said the government aimed to develop Siddipet on all fronts. Since the district was lacking industries, Rao said the government wanted to invite multinational companies from across the globe to Siddipet so that they can create employment for local youth. Though DXN has had its presence in India for the past 18 years, the Siddipet unit will be the first one in south India.
The Minister said that DXN had a huge 14 lakh customer base across the globe. Stating that the State government had acquired over 500 acre of land around Mittapally, Mundrai, Rajagopalpet and Palamakula villages near Siddipet with the objective of creating an industrial corridor, Rao said eco-friendly industries like food processing units will be encouraged over chemical industries, which cause pollution.
Similarly, a Japanese industry had already agreed to set up an industry in Siddipet, he said, adding that more industries will come forward to set up their units in and around Siddipet since the government will provide all the necessary help to them.
Dr Lim said the Siddipet unit will process over 100 varieties of agriculture produces, which will be marketed across the globe. Mallepally Laxmaiah, Special Officer, Buddhavanam Project, MP, Medak, Kotha Prabahakar Reddy, Municipal Chairman, Kadavergu Rajanarsu and others were also present.
